Focus on Plant Training

DMH the Highland and Lowland experts in plant training

DMH Training delivers specialist plant training across the Highlands, the north east and the central belt.

Based in the heart of Inverness with training centres near Edinburgh, Aberdeen and in Wick this Highland plant training specialist is one of Scotland's most well established, providing plant training courses in more than 100 different disciplines.

“Training is vitally important in the plant industry,” said DMH's plant training manager, John Anderson. “There are so many specialised jobs and fields of interest that it is imperative that everyone who works in this sector receives regular instruction at their job and is kept informed of any advances and changes that affect their own particular area of work.”

“We provide plant training that will ensure operators are suitably qualified with appropriate plant training accreditation, covering a wide range of plant and equipment all to nationally recognised standards.”

“Ensuring plant operators hold industry recognised qualifications is a must if they are to work on major contracts in the UK. We can help by advising what plant training requirements clients might need and then arrange suitable plant operator training either at one of our designated plant training sites or provide in-house plant training at a site to suit.”

But DMH provides more than plant training for companies.

“If individuals are looking to further your own careers by making themselves more employable in the plant operating industries, then we can also help with their own plant training needs,” said John.

All trainees benefit from DMH's extensive experience and highly qualified trainers using the latest plant training techniques and equipment.

“Our plant training specialises in CPCS and SVQ qualifications but we also offer one day specialist plant training courses tailored to our clients' requirements.”

Construction Plant Competence Scheme
The Construction Plant Competence Scheme is increasingly a crucial piece of plant training for those working in the construction industry. More and more employers are demanding proof of competence from all operators on site. Both the major contractors group and the national house building federation insist upon the scheme. The plant CPCS red or blue card proves to employers that those working on site have had the relevant plant training to give them the skills and practical experience to do the job effectively.

Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs)
Construction plant SVQs were introduced to enable people already in a trade to gain relevant competency qualifications. They are qualifications related to specific work areas and based on core competencies. Gaining the qualification is through on site assessment.

As well as SVQs in plant training, DMH also trains to the same standards in fabrication and engineering.

Welding is also an area of training where DMH excels. As well as bringing trainees up to SVQ standard the Highland based trainers also teaches coding to ASME IX or BSEN standards and Lloyds certification.

“Whether it is a short refresher course, advanced plant training or simply a one day skills course DMH Training can help,” added, John.
